Katy Perry dazzled at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards this past weekend with a gravity-defying performance. The songstress appeared before the audience on a sheet suspended  in the air as she crooned “Wide Awake.”
The emotional breakup track was written for Perry’s much buzzed about 3D film, Katy Perry: Part of Me, which will debut July 5th.

The set was breathtaking, reminiscent of Pink’s own Grammy performance, and featured ethereal shooting stars and clouds in the background. Perry spun in the air, decked out in a dreamy white gown billowing around her as acrobats gracefully danced around her.

Jack Johnson has always been one of those artists that can immediately put you in a good mood.

A few weeks ago, Ke$ha got her head shaved Skrillex style and now she’s upping the ante with her latest hair accessory, studded scalp. Personally, I think it’s a bit much. I mean, OUCH! didnt’ that hurt or something?  The “Blah Blah Blah” singer tweeted the above picture yesterday with the caption: “Is Happening.” Is it avant-garde? New and daring? Ridiculous or just plain “Sleazy”? Either way, it’s Ke$ha and the girl is going to rock it whether we like it or not.

“Runaway Baby” is a retro-rolling single from Bruno Mars’ debut studio album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The song carries old-school vibes and guitar heavy sounds. Mars performed the song at this year’s 2012 Grammy Awards. Last Saturday, the crew at Saturday Night Live put on a parody in honor of baby Blue Ivy Carter. The clip opens up with Beyonce (played by actress Maya Rudolph) and Jay-Z chatting it up in their mansion as B cradles the baby to sleep. Suddenly, Prince pops into the room, followed by surprise visits from LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift, and Bon Iver.

Former member of The Format, Nate Ruess, returns with the hit single “We Are Young” with his newly formed band fun. The New York indie group collaborates with tuxedo fresh, Janelle Monáe (one of soul’s primmest artists today) for the track.
