It’s about time fellow Canadians Bieber Fever and Drake joined their musical talents to create another hit track. The collab, “Right Here,” is as expected, nothing particularly worthy of getting your panties in a bunch. The track carries neither the heavy, sultry beats Drake is known for or the super addictive pop hooks of the Biebs.

However, it’s pretty decent over all – something of a subtle jam you’d put on as background music. The song floats on airy synths and scratches, Drake’s and Bieber’s voices blend seamlessly into one another. The overall theme of the song is, of course, typical Drizzy and Biebs. The latter spends the better half of the track attempting to convince the listener of why he’s the one, singing, “I would never ever put nobody else above you / I just wanna kiss you, baby/ I just wanna hug you till the end.” Drake’s mellow crooning wraps up everything neatly, his deeper tones anchoring the song.

Oh, and did we mention the new lyric video is a pretty impressive show of clay animation? Well, it is, and it should tide you over until the real deal is released.

Canadian Idol finalist, Carly Rae Jepsen, delivers an addicting pop jam off her EP, Curiosity. The flirty track topped the Canadian Hot 100 and garnered a flurry of media attention thanks to pivotal support from Justin Bieber, whose School Boy label she is signed with.

While the single’s original music video is a cutesy yet cliché story of Jepsen having the hots for her neighbor (who turns out to actually have the hots for her male bandmate in the end), the more recent video is a homemade mash-up of Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and a few semi-famous pals goofing around at home in front of a camera. The music video, released three days ago, has already gained more than 3 million views – which probably has something to do with the (gasp!) almost-kiss shared between Bieber Fever and gf, Selena Gomez.

What does Biebs have to say about all this? ”I think that there is going to be a lot of stuff in the future so just watch out,” International Business Times quoted the 17-year-old crooner as saying. “I think this is BS that this song ["Call Me Maybe"] is #1 in Canada and isn’t #1 around the world.”

Looks like the US can expect a bit of Canadian love to hit the Billboard charts soon!

Depending on how you see it, pop sensation Justin Beiber will either be gracing or invading this year’s annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

According to CNET, Justin Bieber will be appearing at CES 2012 this Wednesday (Jan. 11) between 1 p.m. and 3p.m. to help promote Vietnamese robotics company TOSY, which is known for its Topio robot.

If you think this news is pretty random, you should also know that Bieber released his own nail polish collection through Nicole by O.P.I. called One Less Lonely Girl late in 2010.

CES is an annual exhibition which features everything new and exciting in the electronics world.

Bieber is only scheduled to make an appearance to help promote TOSY and will not be performing.

Other artists who are scheduled to stop by include LL Cool J, 50 Cent, and will.i.am.

Teen sensation Justin Bieber was recently spotted at Los Angeles’ Venice Beach with some fresh and religious ink on the back of his left calf.

Bieber is adding to the small collection of tattoos on his body which include a small seagull on his hip and a tattoo of the word “Jesus” in hebrew on the side of his torso. Bieber and his father got the matching “Jesus” tattoos together last summer.

Since Bieber is still a minor at 17 years old, he had to get his father’s permission before the tattoo artist got to work. The pop singer got inked back in early December of 2011 but the fairly large tattoo hasn’t been visible to the public until he was spotted with it yesterday.

Yes, Lady Gaga managed to outdo her previous spacesuit at last year’s Grammys and yes, she arrived in an opaque egg. Her fans went into a twitter frenzy, raving about her not-so subtle reference to her Born This Way album. Nicole Formichetti tweeted, ”Lady gaga wears Mugler by nicola formichetti. Womb by hussein Chalayan. Gaga’s pryers are in haus of gaga in collaboration with Mugler. My baby is been born.” Although Mother Monster made no stops on the red carpet that night, she did slip in a wave to Jersey Shore’s Snooki and MTV News’ Sway.

Who can forget  Mariah Yeater’s paternity suit against the tween singer? On Halloween Yeater alleged that Bieber was the father of her 3-month-year-old baby, the result of a 30-second quicky in a bathroom backstage at the Staples Center. The lawsuit was later quietly dropped by Yeater, much to the relief of Bieber Fever’s ecstatic female fans, when her and her lawyers were informed that if the DNA test came up  in the pop star’s favor, they would be promptly sued in turn. Whew! That was a close one Bieber!

Yikes. I bet the Grammy folks didn’t expect the massive teen revolt when indie artist Esperanza Spalding won “Best New Artist” over Justin Bieber this year. In a flurry of twitter and fb outrage, Bieber fans lambasted the emerging jazz artist and rationalized that since she was relatively unknown, Spalding didn’t qualify for the award. One fan tweeted, “So the Esperanza Spalding has only 8 thousand followers on twitter and how many does justin bieber has?” Ouch, who knew that twitter followers equaled musical talent?

As “We Found Love” climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, it also ignited controversy around the world for its “offensive” and “lewd” portrayal of young lovers in a dysfunctional relationship. While the video has also been praised for taking a risk and showing the realities of many die-hard relationships, it became banned as unsuitable for daytime television in France and Rihanna even managed to upset an Irish farmer when she went topless in his field during the film’s production. Despite the staunch disapproval by many, “We Found Love” remains one of 2011′s most cinematic and memorable music videos.

The annual list named musicians Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Paula Abdul and 11-year-old ‘America’s Got Talent’ runner-up Jackie Evancho.

The young pop stars were named for consistently being courteous to their fans. Paula Abdul was recognized for her sweet words of advice on ‘X Factor,’ which usually helps to counter co-judge Simon Cowell’s notoriously blunt and cold comments. As for Jackie Evancho? Well she’s just the sweetest little girl.

The musicians shared company with actress Emma Watson, NFL quarterback Aaron Rogers, and Princess Kate Middleton.

I totally agree with the list, but is it sad that I don’t know who Aaron Rogers is? I’m obviously not a sports fans but good for him for being the only male on this list!

What list wouldn’t be complete without listing the worst? The dishonor of Most Ill-Mannered Person of 2011 went to reality TV star Kim Kardashian. The reason? For “making a private matter public and disrespecting the institution of marriage” after ending her rumored “made-for-TV marriage” only after 72 days. Ouch.

Also, did you check out that top photo of Justin Bieber from Vanity Fair? It just screams AWKWARD. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a similar pose on photo blog site, Awkward Family Photos.

Forbes recently released their annual list of “The World’s 25 Highest-Paid Musicians.” You’ll be surprised at some of the names that made the list.

The list was compiled of pretax income date from May 2010 to May 2011, before agent and manager fees were taken out. Forbes used data from Pollstar, RIAA, and others, in addition to heavily interviewing everyone from concert promoters and lawyers to the musicians themselves.

Most artists and bands received their largest income from touring. Additional income came from activities such as music sales, other business ventures like fashion or record labels, and endorsements.

Randy Phillips, chief of concert promoter AEG says, “It’s one thing to cut a song and get airplay, it’s another thing to convert listeners into a loyal fan base that goes through the trials and tribulations of buying tickets, paying for dinner, hiring a baby sitter.” Adding, “To motivate a fan base to go through all those hurdles, there are very few artists who can do that consistently.”

Some things to note: The list only includes 5 female performers, however the geographic diversity is pretty broad. Lady Gaga is the top earning female for 2010. Justin Bieber, at 17 years old, is the youngest top-earning musician, while Sir Paul McCartney, at 68 years old, is the oldest top-earning musician.

This is the tween idol’s second time on the show, the first was two years ago when he covered Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas” at the White House in 2009.  So that practically makes him and Obama, like, buddies, “NBD”.

“Waking up with a bad cold … weather change. but will be ready tonight for CHRISTMAS in WASHINGTON. #resting,” the star tweeted hours before Sunday’s show. He later updated fans: ”Feeling good. Just had some fun at rehearsals and now we r ready. Time to sing for the President. #canadianrepresenter. Seeing the fans … being here again 2 years later. Feeling very #blessed and #grateful. Thank U! Great night! President Obama is one cool Prez. He told me he was ‘chillin.’ #PresidentialSWAG.”

Of course, the show’s host, Conan O’brien, couldn’t help but get a few chuckles in, announcing to the crowd that “[it's] especially exciting to be here during this joyous season, when we celebrate the arrival of a miracle child, worshiped by millions around the world…Of course I’m talking about Justin Bieber.”

Bieber then launched into his hit song, “Mistletoe,” which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Of course, as soon as the baby crooner began singing, all the tween girls swooned and some even appeared to be crying. The power this 17 year old kid has over tweens and moms still sends me into a state of wonder.

Overall, it was a cute skit. Buble’s Christmas album and Bieb’s Under The Mistletoe both topped the Billboard 200, making them the first two Christmas albums do so since 1957. The last time was with Elvis Presley’s Elvis’ Christmas Album and Bing Crosby’s Merry Christmas. Doesn’t all this Christmas cheer make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

The video for single “All I Want For Christmas Is You” featuring Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber premiered last night (Nov. 30). The duet is a remake of Carey’s holiday classic, released in 1994- the same year Bieber was born.

The video premiered during the live broadcast of “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” on NBC. The annual lighting ceremony has been attended and watched by families for years.

There are two main things about this video which instantly got my attention. The first is that this ‘music video’ is basically an expensive Macy’s Christmas advertisement. The video glorifies commercialism and the amount of product placement was nauseating. The video becomes “All I want for Christmas…  is a Nintendo 3DS, lots of clothes, some handbags, a new puppy…” The second is that Carey is old enough to be Bieber’s mom. Are the revealing and suggestive clothing and motions really necessary? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a total Mariah fan, but remember that this video premiered during an annual family-friendly live event. I think Carey acting like a total sex kitten and Bieber rubbing his hands in glee is totally inappropriate.

I applaud Carey for working hard to lose all her twin pregnancy weight but this video was just not what I was expecting. I mean Carey has every right to flaunt that body and Bieber can do his thing, but I think the way in which the two singers are interacting in the video could have been thought out a lot better.

All in all, the video just comes off as really awkward. Also, Bieber can’t compete with Carey’s ability to hit those insanely high notes. I could almost hear him struggling at some points.

A holiday classic is called a classic for a reason. I’ve included the original video below the Macy’s extended commercial.
