Cobra Starship and Mac Miller join forces in the most DGAF collab to hit Earth yet. Of course, it isn’t a total shocker — Cobra Starship and Mac Miller aren’t exactly poster children for good behavior and in their latest music video they let us know exactly why.

Summer, beer pong, jumping into pools with your clothes on and chilling on rooftops with your homies — sounds like the perfect setting for a classic house party. Oh, and did we mention Drew Barrymore, Charlie’s Angels hottie, will be photographing the whole thing? I know, too fab for words. Even more, it happened.

Mac Miller burst onto the scene with the first independent debut album to top the charts since 1995. He’s established himself in the music industry with his fresh rhymes and slick n’ cool beats. While his music videos are usually a fantastic barrage of color and random play, the not-so-underdog’s latest work, “Of the Soul,” takes a page from the low-key abstract.
For the first time since 1995, an artist from an indie label has debuted at No.1 on Billboard’s Top 200. Mac Miller’s debut album Blue Side Park has defied the status quo and cemented itself in music history by debuting at the No.1 spot, something that hasn’t been accomplished since Dogg Pound’s 1995 Dogg Food album. Miller’s debut knocked out Michael Buble’s Christmas album and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn soundtrack to climb to the No. 1 spot — proving that dreams really do come true ma!
Choosing to ignore numerous offers from major labels, Mac Miller and manager Benjy Grinberg firmly decided to keep it independent with Rostrum Records. ”They called Benjy and wanted to talk, but Benjy was just on some ‘We’re not trying to talk right now, we’re doin’ this independently.’ And we just left it at that,” Miller stated to MTV News. And his reaction to his phenomenal success? “The numbers are cool — 144,000, that’s crazy. But whatever it is, the fact that I got a #1 album on my first try independently is just something that no one could ever take away from me.”
With a loyal fan base of more than 1 million tweeters strong, a recorded 144,000 copies sold within the first week and a fresh, solid sound, Mac Miller is showing no signs of stopping.
When I first watched the music video for “Frick Park Market” by Mac Miller, I couldn’t help but think, “Who is this kid?” As in, what’s a college fratboy punk doing rapping over deli sandwiches with glow-in-the-dark bunnies and ducks? It was like a psychedelic party gone wrong but at the same time oh-so terribly right.
