Check Out This Blue Wig, Cupcake Wearing Katy Perry Barbie

So you’ve seen the Nicki Minaj Barbie, now check out the Katy Perry Barbie!

Pop mega star Katy Perry has become an estimated $15,000 doll.

The bright blue wig and cupcake wearing Barbie was designed by Amy Lee of Mattel. The 70 cupcakes on the doll’s dress? Individually hand painted. The glitter on the doll’s stocking? Swarovski crystals.

The Katy Perry Barbie will be up for auction along with the Nicki Minaj doll starting this Wednesday, Dec. 7. The auction closes on December 19. Proceeds from both dolls will benefit Project Angel Food, an LA-based meal delivery service for patients with HIV and AIDS.

I thought the Nicki Barbie had minimal resemblance to the hip-hop star.  Well, the Katy Perry Barbie simply has no resemblance in my opinion. If you replaced the doll’s wig with a different hairstyle, I don’t think I’d be able to pin the doll as Katy Perry.

However I do think those hand painted cupcakes look simply amazing. They’re all different and oh so colorful! When comparing the doll’s dress to Katy’s real cupcake dress, the doll’s dress is the clear winner. Katy’s dress actually looks kind of tacky with all the over-the-top, clashing colors. It looks like a clown ate rainbow cake and threw up all over an old sequined 80′s bridesmaid dress. The doll’s dress uses pastel colors and is a lot more softer and cutesy looking.

Also, you know what both Nicki and Katy Perry dolls are missing? The stars’ assets. Yeah, both dolls are definitely missing both women’s famous curves. Anyone agree with me?
