Flo Rida’s Hideous Rap-Talking Butchers Rihanna’s Hit ‘We Found Love’

A remix of Rihanna’s hit single, Calvin Harris-assisted “We Found Love,” has been making its rounds on the internet. The remix features rap artist Flo Rida. Let me just say that this review is going to be the farthest thing from sparkling rainbows and butterflies…
First of all, I think “We Found Love” is one of Rihanna’s best singles that she’s released so far (thanks in large part to Harris’s contribution) and that I absolutely love the music video that was produced for it. The dance track is perfect for listening when I’m getting ready in the morning, when I’m going on a run, when I’m dancing in the club and more- it’s an across the board perfect A-list track for me.
When I listened to the Flo Rida remix version of “We Found Love,” I was seriously shouting at my computer screen from the amount of disgust that I felt. Flo Rida’s rap-talking without-a-doubt destroys Rihanna’s song. The flowing, rhythmic dance beat that I love so much on the track is ruined by the choppy spits put down by Flo Rida. My ears needed at least three listens of some quality songs to musically recover from Flo Rida’s grotesque remix of the track.
Rap-Up commented on this remix saying, “Flo parties like Mick Jagger over the Calvin Harris-produced dance anthem, which is sure to get love in the clubs.”
You have got to be kidding me. Am I listening to the same song that was being commented on?
I wonder how much Flo Rida’s record company, Atlantic, paid Def Jam to remix “We Found Love.” This remix is a failed blatant attempt by Flo Rida to ride on the Bajan beauty’s success from “We Found Love.”
A comment on Rap-Up’s article mentioning this remix put it best with: “Not every hit needs a remix!” I agree 100%.
