Florence Welch Gets Drunk with Kanye West, Almost Burns Down NY Hotel

Who knew that Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine could be such a hot mess? The fiery redhead was recently in New York City where she narrowly averted burning down New York’s Brewery Hotel to the ground.

Welch told Q magazine: “I came back to the hotel, passed out in my ripped dress — no phone, chipped tooth — came round and there was black stuff all over the wall, my book had melted on the bedside table and there was a bucket of water on the floor.”

My goodness, that sounds like a crazy night!

Welch told the magazine that she had left a candle burning.

So who was Welch partying with exactly? “Kanye West, Lykke Li, me, the doormen, most of Lower Manhattan, whoever, drinking dirty martinis and what have you.”

Florence always amazes me. It’s like finding out that your favorite English teacher from high school who would bake muffins for the class every week and offer free tutoring is the beer chugging champion at the local pub. Or, at least that’s how I see it.

Also, this is why alcohol and candles should never mix.
