Check out the video premiere of Kelly Clarkson’s latest single “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”, which just dropped today! The Greg Kurstin-produced track is the second single from Clarkson’s fifth studio album Stronger.
The fun video features Clarkson viewing various videos of a global flash mob before doing some dancing of her own towards the end. Clarkson released the choreography well before the video was shot so that fans could learn the routine and submit how they rock out to “Stronger.”
I love the opening lines: “You know the bed feels warmer/Sleeping here alone.” Clarkson really knows how to put together the perfect girl anthem song. I am totally digging “Stronger”! Clarkson has amazing pop-rock vocals which are just right for post-breakup/independent songs. This is definitely the kind of song you want to rock out and sing along to while you’re driving in your car. Too bad I carpool to work. Otherwise, I’d basically be screaming the lyrics, rocking out, and doing the Kelly Clarkson eyebrow lift over and over again.
The simple, yet infectious guitar rifts really add to the song. Later, when the chorus picks up, the explosive addition of synths really liven up the song and almost encourages listeners to get up and start dancing.
Fans will appreciate the fun and uplifting video, but I think some music fans might not like the slow pace of the video in the beginning. The video doesn’t really start to get exciting till the end, when Kelly starts doing the choreography with everyone. Make sure you don’t miss her awesome karate chopping skills!
Clarkson also showcased a new, super cute haircut with side bangs. I think the chic soft rock hairstyle suits her face well.
I can’t wait to start hearing “Stronger” on the radio!
