After four years in hiatus, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are back for world domination, aka a US tour to promote their 2011 I’m With You album. Currently trekking across Europe and playing sold out shows, RHCP announced their return to the States to launch January 25 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Six dates for the upcoming tour have been released, with more shows soon to be revealed.

Last summer, RHCP came back with I’m With You, with the accompanying single “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” debuting at No.2 on Billboard’s Hot 200 and at No. 1 on the UK charts. While the US Tour will be their first official gig, the West Coast band has been spotted performing warm up shows around the globe. Prior to the album release, RCHP played a secret show among the towering pines and lawn of the Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur,CA — followed by several other shows including a headliner for Summer Sonic Fest in Japan.

“We felt pretty good about everything that we had done in terms of writing and recording, but no one really knew [how the warm-up shows would turn out] and it was just as good as one could have ever dreamt of … It was like being 21 years old and not being able to sleep the night before a show,” frontman Anthony Kiedis shared with MTV News.
